To say, “We live in interesting times,” is a massive understatement. For reasons I am about to share, we must temporarily postpone Stenovate’s public beta launch.
It breaks my heart to deliver this news. You have been part of the Stenovate journey from the beginning, and we’re sorry to make that journey just a little longer. However, we are 100% committed to your data privacy and security, as well as the health and well-being of our team.
While stress testing our system, we uncovered a potential security vulnerability. To be clear, there has never been a data breach or attack on the system, but given the serious nature of our work, we refuse to take any chances. We are working with a team of senior cloud service security consultants to mitigate even the smallest of risks.
As a Registered Professional Reporter myself, holding two state licenses, and as a fellow officer of the court, I will always do what’s in the best interest of Stenovate users, who are both my colleagues and friends.
The second reason for the delay is the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The outbreak has interrupted all of our lives, including members of the Stenovate team. Like you, many of us are suddenly needing to balance work with unexpected family obligations as schools and offices are closing. We are all rapidly adjusting to working on Stenovate remotely from home while ensuring our team has what they need to care for their families.
At the end of the day, this delay will not only allow us to reinforce our security, but spend time improving the user onboarding experience as well. We are also adding more storage and bandwidth to support more users. We have had a lot more interest in Stenovate than we originally anticipated. Kudos to you and everyone who helped spread the word.
